Suman aunty

Suman was just 10 years old when she first learned crochet, back in 6th standard at her local government school, where young girls were taught handicrafts alongside their regular studies.

At home, her elder sisters also crocheted, and she would eagerly learn from them. What started as curiosity soon turned into skill - so much so that whenever she spotted a pattern on someone passing by, she would return home and try to recreate it from memory.

Crochet stayed with her through every phase of life. In her younger years, she continued honing her craft, and after marriage, she lovingly made sweaters and jackets for friends and family as gifts.

One day, someone noticed her work and asked her mother-in-law,
“We love what she makes - would she be open to creating more for us if we paid for it?”

That moment marked a quiet turning point. What began as a heartfelt hobby slowly grew into something more.

Today, at 57, Suman continues to crochet with the same passion she started with decades ago.

Since 2024, she has been a part of ICT, helping us carry her craft to homes far beyond her own - turning simple yarn into pieces filled with warmth, memory, and love.
